It has been quite some time since KPN (with UB Infra as the implementing party) extended the fiber-optic cables to the meter cupboards in our homes. This was in April 2023, and since then, nothing has happened.
The three parties—KPN, VolkerWessels, and UB Infra—have kept pointing at each other without offering a solution. Apparently, it was never their fault.
KPN is the main contractor responsible for bringing fiber to our homes. You can check the current project status here: https://www.kpn.com/glasvezelnetwerk

Since the status has remained unchanged for two years, I called KPN again at 088 006 3744 (choose option 1 to confirm your postal code and house number, then option 2—this is the only way to reach a real person). After some searching, the employee told me that the cables have indeed been installed, but we are now waiting for a permit.
When I asked which permit, she couldn’t say. Every time there seems to be a different explanation or cause. A permit seems unlikely, seeing that all the digging and installation work has already been done.
Call to action: If you are also interested in getting fiber, call the same number and let them know. If more residents register their interest, we might be able to speed up the process.
